AĞ PARTİYA HAQDA

About

White Party

Foundation: The party was founded in 1993 under the name "United Azerbaijan Party" (Vahid Azərbaycan Partiyası). The idea of its foundation was connected to supporting patriotic-national ideas and efforts to unite Azerbaijani society.

History: Before being known as "White Party," the party participated in political life as the "United Azerbaijan Party" since 1993. The founding leader, Kerrar Abilov, ran as a candidate in the presidential elections of the same year and came in second place.
Political Activity Between 1995 and 2015:
During these years, the party did not play a significant role in the political scene and often remained in the shadow of larger parties. However, it participated in various election campaigns, trying to establish a presence among voters.
Transition to New Leadership:
In 2016, Tural Abbaslı became the leader of the party, bringing significant strategic changes. Abbaslı, who was previously an active member of the "Musavat" Party (Müsavat), decided to transform the party into a new political force. The party's name, ideology, and objectives were changed, and it was renamed "White Party" to highlight the renewal of its image and new goals. The new ideology reflected a focus on conservative, nationalist, and Islamic values.
Registration and Recognition:
In 2020, the party’s new name, "White Party," was officially registered by the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan, enabling it to participate in elections under its new brand.

Ideology: After adopting its new name, the party actively supported conservative, nationalist, and Islamic values. It promoted the idea of "Neo-Ottomanism," which aims to revive the greatness of the Turkic-Islamic world, positioning Azerbaijan as a central figure in this process. It also focused on strengthening family values and encouraging morality based on Islamic principles through social and cultural projects.

Election Activities: In 2020: The party participated in elections under the name "United Azerbaijan Party" for the last time, receiving around 0.3% of the votes and failing to pass the electoral threshold. In 2024: It participated under the name "White Party," receiving 0.6% of the votes, but this was still insufficient to secure seats in parliament.

The party attributed this to alleged manipulations and violations of electoral procedures.

Symbolism: The party's logo features a stylized Ottoman lily and elements of ancient Turkic symbols.
